INFLUENCE OF SOIL HEATING METHOD ON THE GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT, AND YIELD OF TOMATOES GROWN IN PLASTIC FILM GREENHOUSES

Summary

The research was made of three soil heating systems influence on tomatoes growth and yielding. The soil was heated with heating pipes placed in the ground at 35 cm depth in an even pitch (36 cm), under the rows of plants, or on the cultivation area. In the control room only air heating was applied. The highest and most constant temperature as well was found in the greenhouse with all the pipes distributed evenly. The fastest growth featured the plants grown on the premises with pipes put just on the ground. The largest yield, total and marketable was received from the premises with the heating pipes placed at 35 cm depth in the soil, whereas the largest early yield was obtained at soil being heated with the pipes placed on the growing area, between the rows of the plants.
