INFLUENCE OF SUBSTRATE PASTEURIZATION METHODS ON THE YIELDING OF SOME PLEUROTUS CULTIVARS

Summary

The mycelium growth and yielding of Pleurotus cultivars Px, P24 and P77., on substrates of wheat and rye straw were investigated. Substrates were pasteurized in different ways: 1. at the temperature of 70°C for 24 hours, 2. at the temperature of 60°C for 24 hours, 3. at the temperature of 60°C for 8 hours and then at the temperature of 48-50°C for 72 hours. Mycelium growth and the yield Pleurotus depended on the cultivar, substrate and pasteurization method. The most rapid mycelium growth and the highest yield of Pleurotus was obtained in the substrate of wheat straw which was pasteurized at the temperature of 60°C for 8 hours and then at the temperature of 48-50°C for 72 hours. The most intensive mycelium growth and the highest yield was obtained from the cultivar P77.
